Quincy Brown (professionally known as Quincy) was born into a musical family. The second-generation singer is the son of 80’s R&B singer, Al B. Sure and model Kim Porter. At age 3, Quincy was adopted by music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Quincy was born in Manhattan on June 4, 1991 and was raised in Columbus, GA by his late grandmother. When Quincy first decided he wanted to be an artist, he wanted to be a rapper, but his grandmother suggested he follow in his father’s footsteps and become a singer, which he did. She even paid for his vocal lessons.He he stated in an interview that his biggest musical influences are Luther Vandross, Al Green and Marvin Gaye. Quincy’s sound is a mix of Al B.Sure with a little bit of Drake.
Between 2009-2014 Quincy released the songs “Stay Awhile” ft Kendre which was on 106 & Park, “The First Thing” and the hit single “Friends First” ft French Montana which premiered on SKEETV. Since then he has released several singles (Record Straight, Exotic, Blue Dot) and the latest single “Sunshine” which is a mid-tempo feel good song in which Quincy express joy over having a happy and blessed life.On June 24th, he announced that he signed to Bad Boy Records. He’s also starring in the new Fox musical drama “Star” alongside Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt.
